The Gravel blog is published by Gravel, a business software provider for dumpster and portable sanitation owners. Our focus is the work between a customer’s first request and the final invoice: equipment, sites, dispatch, field records, and billing.

Who writes these guides

Articles carry the Gravel organization byline. We use AI-assisted research and drafting, check the content against linked primary sources and documented product workflows, and identify hypothetical examples. We do not present these guides as a named operator’s personal experience or an independent review of our own software.

How we choose topics

We look for specific decisions owners need to make. Each guide should provide something usable: a checklist, a worked example, or questions to take into a software demo. Search research helps us understand the wording people use; it does not replace useful answers.

Sources, dates, and corrections

References appear alongside the relevant explanation or at the end of an article. Publication dates reflect the first release; an updated date changes when we materially revise a guide. We do not refresh dates just to make content appear new.

When revising a guide, we recheck its worked examples, sources, and product statements. If a source or a product capability changes, the affected explanation should change with it.

Examples and product availability

Sample companies, routes, prices, unit numbers, and invoices are fictional. Equipment imagery is illustrative. Rental prices in examples are not market averages or Gravel subscription fees. Owners independently set their customer rates, included services, and agreement terms.
